Curriculum Standards:

Our curriculum is mapped to the CSTA and ISTE standards.

The CSTA K–12 Computer Science Standards delineate a core set of learning objectives designed to provide the foundation for a complete computer science curriculum and its implementation at the K–12 level.

ISTE Standards for Students are designed to empower student voice and ensure that learning is a student-driven process.

Course Curriculum

  • Unit A: Introduction to Micro:bit

BBC micro:bit is a half debit/credit card sized computer that introduces students to how software and hardware work together. It is power packed with LED display, sensors and many input/outputs feature that, when programmed, let it interact with us and world around.

    Number of Classes - 3
    Number of Activities – 3

    Standards
    CSTA K12
2-CS-01 - Recommend improvements to the design of computing devices, based on an analysis of how users interact with the devices.
2-CS-02 - Design projects that combine hardware and software components to collect and exchange data.
    ISTE
5A - Students formulate problem definitions suited for technology-assisted methods such as data analysis, abstract models, and algorithmic thinking in exploring and finding solutions.
5B- Students collect data or identify relevant data sets, use digital tools to analyse them, and represent data in various ways to facilitate problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Unit B: Introduction and Evolution of AI

Artificial Intelligence is the way of acting intelligently with predefined algorithms. It is the area of computer science which helps in making machines with intelligence. Intelligence is the ability of solving problems, analysing data, making decisions and the ability to act rationally in situations. Students will get to know about the features of AI.

2-IC-20- Compare tradeoffs associated with computing technologies that affect people's everyday activities and career options.
2-IC-21 - Discuss issues of bias and accessibility in the design of existing technologies.

  • Unit C: AI Techniques

AI techniques is an organized way and method to use the knowledge derived such that it can be easily modified to correct errors, or useful in several circumstances. Types of Machine Learning with examples

2-AP-13- Decompose problems and subproblems into parts to facilitate the design, implementation, and review of programs
2-AP-19- Document programs in order to make them easier to follow, test, and debug.

  • Unit D: Domains of AI

This unit covers about Domains of AI - Fuzzy logic systems, NLP, data science, Computer Vision and other areas.

    Number of Classes - 8
    Number of Activities – 5

    CSTA K12

2-CS-03 - Systematically identify and fix problems with computing devices and their components
2-AP-10- Use flowcharts and/or pseudocode to address complex problems as algorithms.

  • Unit E: Ethics of AI

Many modern AI empowered system’s behaviour reflects the data the system is trained against and the human labellers who annotate that data. We will try to understand the ethics states - About moral decisions-what is good and bad?

2-IC-21- Discuss issues of bias and accessibility in the design of existing technologies.

  • Unit F: Future of AI

It is obvious that AI has made tremendous progress over the years and will continue to do so in future. Comparing the kinds of technologies that we possessed or even the kind of businesses we ran before AI took over with the scenario today, it is safe to say that AI has made a vast difference in these areas. Going forward too, with evolving Al, there is going to be a drastic change from the technologies and businesses today compared with that of the future.
